Hi there, reader.

Welcome to Light After Rain! Whether you’ve stumbled upon my corner of the Internet by intention or by accident, I’m glad you’re here. I created this newsletter as part of a course assignment to fulfill the requirements for a college minor in creative writing.

While that admission may kill any desire to read further, I invite you to stick around. If you’re interested in traveling, poetry, plants, or Gothic literature and film, then Light After Rain probably has an article that you’d find interesting. Possibly even entertaining!

Some other themes in this newsletter include

  • being an artist,

  • rediscovering faith, and

  • hope after grief!

And in addition to personal essays, some genres you can expect include

  • book and film reviews,

  • interviews with fellow creatives, and

  • travel pieces.

Ultimately, Light After Rain is a mosaic of what it means to be human. While sorrow is a prevalent part of our experience, there are paths of joy to be found. Light After Rain is pursuing that joy. I hope you’ll come along!
