This is Light After Rain, a newsletter and retrospective pursuit of beauty in a broken world.
That’s a doozy of a tagline to be sure, but an important one. Literarily, rain symbolism presents itself in themes of grief, loneliness, illness, and general tribulation. These storms touch all of us—differently, but we are each impacted nonetheless. This equal-yet-unequal experience binds us together as human beings.
My goal is not to wallow. What we cannot forget is hope—the end of the narrative arc, and what our human hearts yearn for. The desire for redemption rests in each of us, planted in the soft soil of our spirits. It is watered by tribulation and fed through light.
However dark our world or our lives may become, no rain lasts forever. Light always pervades. In this tiny corner of the Internet, I’m going to chase that light. Come with me!
